Warm fruit and a crisp topping already provide a lot of flavor. The accompaniment does not always need to be equally sweet or heavily flavored.
Try plain unsweetened plant yogurt beside apple crumble or baked pears. Taste the yogurt first: a strong coconut flavor may be welcome with one dessert and distracting with another. A suitable vanilla dessert can work too, particularly with sharper fruit.
Keep the cold part separate until serving so the topping stays crisp. Put it beside the crumble rather than covering the entire surface. That lets you choose a little of each texture in the same spoonful.
When feeding guests, keep packaging available for ingredient checks and use separate serving spoons. “Plant-based” does not tell someone whether a product contains soy, nuts, or another ingredient they need to avoid.
